    Mr. Pickwick joined the staff of S.W. Bush and Son on April 2nd, 1881, when the business was carried on by Mr. S W, Bush previous to the present partnership, and remained with the firm until about three years ago. He was an indefatigable worker, and his olyalty and devotion to duty were always spoken of with the greates parise. He was much esteemed by the customers of the firm, with whom he came in contact, and was a general favourite.
    He was also a loyal and generous supporter of the Zion United Methodist Church at Twerton.
    The first part of th funeral service was held at the house, the Rev. W. S. Green officiating.
    The chief mourners were: M.r H. Pickwick (son), Mr. A. Coombs (uncle), Mr. C.Clanfield ((brother-in-law), Mr. A. Axford (cousin), Mr. S. Lee Bush, Mr. E. J. Weaving, Mr. A. Rawlings, Mr. B. Newsome, Mr. W, H. Tucker, Mr. H. Carey, Mr. P. Carey and Mr. A. S. Pearce.
    At the graveside there were present many friends from Zion U. M. Church and business associates. Among them were Miss W. M. Bush, Mr. G. W. Hawkins, Mr. G. H. Weekes, Mr. L R. Crew, Mr. L.R.Mansfield, Mr. C. H. Williams (representing Bath Whoelsale Grocers, Ltd.), Mrs. Liddiard, Mrs. Gould, Mr. W.Payne, Mr. G. Dagger, Mr. W. G. Holden, Miss Truckel, Mrs. and Miss Hudd and Miss Newson (representing Twerton Zionist Church).
    Alderman S. W. Bush was prevented by illness from attending.
    The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. H. Lay, of Windsor House, Weston, Bath."
